I agree. Who goes to a preseason game to see quality football? Just people like Jaff, I guess.

I understand, then be forth coming with the fans. They announced he was the starter, and people believed him.

They announced him as the starter for the regular season. Teams still use preseason to evaluate their lineups. I get that they’re disappointed, but it’s still not a regular game.

I’ve been a season ticket holder in both the Hoosier Dome and LOS. I wasnt always fortunate to afford those tickets, so I did go to Terra Haute to see the team at camp. All it cost was $5 for parking and the concession stand was manned by one of the local schools booster clubs. Home cooked dogs and burgers with fries for less than $8.

Who goes to preseason games, many of them are people who cant afford regular season games, and can find someone willing to sell their or donate tickets for less than face value. The concession stand prices are just as expensive as regular season. Parking is still expensive. Gas is still expensive.

What are their expectations? To see a good game, and see the stars.

Its Irsays team, he can do what he wants. The way this was handled makes me less inclinded to go to a game when I can watch it on tv.

I will never bother with preseason games or camp ever again. I understand why they didnt play him, its their team. They could have been more forth coming about their plans. Disappointing young fans is a poor way to keep a fan base, and shelling out regular game prices for a glorified practice and not playing the starters for one series doesnt inspire trust with paying customers
Yeah that's the piece that is so disappointing- the lack of transparency. In the big scheme of his development, which is the alleged basis of this piece, this shit is meaningless. The not being straight with the consuming fanbase, sort of selling hope on a lot of fronts that isn't warranted, that is sort of something this front office has been very very bad about for a long time now.

Cmon man tickets to camp are free, if fans can’t afford regular season tickets go to camp and get closer to AR then you would in any game.

I never claimed the charged money for camp. Rose/Hulman charged for parking. If they wanted to see AR last week at camp he wasnt available. He worked away from the team while the majority worked against the bears.

At R/H, you were close to the players at the practice area and when they had a live scrimmage at the R/H stadium you could hear EVERYTHING.

Things change not always for the better. Irsay and family have a good record with the fans. Since Jim took over, he has always put the fans first. The business Taylor and now AR is a departure from how they have communicated with the fans.

Its very odd that the Colts want to keep AR working without the rest of the starting offensive group

I feel like I really started to recognize that behavior towards the end of the Manning era. Irsay is Irsay.

I do not question, for a moment, that he wants to win. On the other hand, I know this dude will absolutely "Smoke and Mirror" his way into getting folks to buy tickets.

Sometimes I wonder if it's the nature of being in a smaller market. I never see anything like this in Atlanta with the Falcons.

Get over yourself. Teams have always limited starters in preseason. Now that we have one less game and joint practices, most teams opt to get the starters reps in during the week, and play the ones fighting for a spot in the meaningless game.

If he doesnt make its because he cant read defenses and/or pass accurately, or he’s made of glass. Playing in a home preseason game would have been a good place to get him some experience.

Its Jim’s team, he can do what wants.
