I quit reading when Doyel started bitching again about AR missing the one day of practice. Someone needs to clue him in on the reality that this season's success won't be based on wins but on how well AR develops, and that development is a marathon not a sprint which is likely to take multiple seasons. Missing 1 practice and ~one quarters worth of preseason snaps playing with backups isn't going to really make any difference in that marathon.

He also needs to make his mind up on JT. At the start of camp he was all over JT and his dipshit new agent for how they were acting. Now he's bitching that the Colts haven't signed him to a big extension and not playing him in a preseason game that he wouldn't have played in anyway. Complete hack of a "journalist".

"Provocateur", really. Only aim is to incite a reaction and get clicks. Apparently he does that.

I don't know his history, but I notice a lot of journalists don't actually care much about their field. I've seen enough of them bounce around from politics to sports to Hollywood TMZ type stuff to whatever...

Some actually love it. For some, it's just a gig.

If I drove 80 miles, paid for parking, bought dinner in the stadium or a restaurant, I would have been disappointed, I suppose the younger fans even more not to see AR take some snaps. Disappointing fans is a poor business plan.

I will never bother with preseason games or camp ever again. I understand why they didnt play him, its their team. They could have been more forth coming about their plans. Disappointing young fans is a poor way to keep a fan base, and shelling out regular game prices for a glorified practice and not playing the starters for one series doesnt inspire trust with paying customers

I can see that. But pre-season you are taking your chances especially when one of the games is for evaluating backups because cut-downs are about to occur.

But if AR doesn’t work out, they can point to NasalGate as the reason. That missed day of practice.

I agree. Who goes to a preseason game to see quality football? Just people like Jaff, I guess.

I’ve been a season ticket holder in both the Hoosier Dome and LOS. I wasnt always fortunate to afford those tickets, so I did go to Terra Haute to see the team at camp. All it cost was $5 for parking and the concession stand was manned by one of the local schools booster clubs. Home cooked dogs and burgers with fries for less than $8.

Who goes to preseason games, many of them are people who cant afford regular season games, and can find someone willing to sell their or donate tickets for less than face value. The concession stand prices are just as expensive as regular season. Parking is still expensive. Gas is still expensive.

What are their expectations? To see a good game, and see the stars.

Its Irsays team, he can do what he wants. The way this was handled makes me less inclinded to go to a game when I can watch it on tv.

I understand, then be forth coming with the fans. They announced he was the starter, and people believed him.

They announced him as the starter for the regular season. Teams still use preseason to evaluate their lineups. I get that they’re disappointed, but it’s still not a regular game.

If he doesnt make its because he cant read defenses and/or pass accurately, or he’s made of glass. Playing in a home preseason game would have been a good place to get him some experience.

Its Jim’s team, he can do what wants.
