Either that or as another buddy theorized: Irsay popped a couple of pills and then did the bubble gum, bubble gum thing w/ the names of everyone in the ROH .

Joking aside what is interesting is that at least the IndyStar reported that John Fox was taking over. Maybe Fox agreed to it last night and then changed his mind after sleeping on it.
I dont see why fox would want it. whats in it for him. he probably has a cush job making good money being an advisor. no long hours game planning. no media/fans scrutinizing him, knowing it would most likely be short term position anyway. if I were him I would not take it.

There will be no turnaround. Two integral coaches are gone. This offense will limp around for the rest of the year. This is a complete disaster unless of course you are trying for a top five pick.

I have to think Ballard isn’t far behind. Hell, this is his fault more than it is Franks.
No doubt. If we get even last year's level of play out of the OL this year then we would have probably been competitive enough to at least challenge for the division and make the playoffs, which have kept the core together with the hopes that a good off season would get us there.

I'm sure that C&O, Oldcolt and a few other old timers will remember this. But, in 1986 the Colts fired Rod Dowhower after a 0-13 start and replaced him with Ron Meyer. Meyer won the final 3 games of that season.

A full half season too long for Frank, absolutely should have been gone after the Texans fiasco last year. That exemplified his inability to coach a team through a tough time, it's just not his make-up. Obviously could do it with the helmet on but with the headset instead, dude was a catastrophe and absolutely HAD to go one way or the other. Dude is just NOT a head coach!

Saturday, well at least we have a dude in the short term who will be able to critique this pot of shit and I am sure will feel empowered to show dude's the door as they warrant it on that OL especially. I would suspect Matt Pryor will be getting the pink slip and I wouldn't be surprised if Pinter takes over at C and Kelly is sent packing in the offseason.

That said, I don't think Saturday is long for the job, just here to settle things, preach some shoe and trim some fat.

There is a report on Yahoo that Manning has the lead in the odds to become the next coach. I doubt that, but I sure as hell wouldn't be surprised or upset if he replaced Ballard as the GM. I don't think Peyton could coach but I would LOVE to see him leading player interviews and evaluations. Better be fast on your feet or you can guarantee that dude isn't going to have you on his team, and if you show any sign of not having mental toughness, fuck, no shot at all he would sign you. We need some tough, mean, fired up motherfuckers on this squad.

Erickson wrote that story. He thought that Reich may be gone after yesterday's press conference. So he inserted that extra paragraph in case the news broke while he was traveling back from Boston.

However, he had inserted his best guess at who would take over (I mentioned in a different thread that Keefer thought it would be Ventrone). The IndyStar editor was supposed to update it with the actual interim coach. Erickson admits that he should have placed a XXXXXXXXXX as a placeholder to make it obvious that it needed to be updated.

Nope, there’s no way Nelson and crew are that bad. I don’t buy this narrative they got paid and quit. This is bad coaching. Just the mere fact they couldn’t pick up stunts, over and over, speaks volumes to how bad the coaching of this team is.

My 80 year old neighbor told me this morning that the whole problem is the LT position, he said it was keeping Nelson and Kelly from being able to do their job. He said fix LT and the OL will be fine!

Jeff Saturday is Colts' 5th interim HC since 1984; 4th if you exclude Bruce Arians. BA took over for 12 games in 2012 after Chuck Pagano diagnosed with leukemia. Colts 9-3 with BA, who was named Coach of the Year.

*Ron Meyer (3-0) after Rod Dowhower fired
