Default Evaluating Brissett - Week 5

Better late than never, here’s my breakdown of Colts-Chiefs…

In terms of Brissett’s performance, I was expecting a thoroughly underwhelming performance, but he was better than I thought on 1st viewing. He wasn’t great and the INT was gruesome, but some of what I originally thought were misreads or sticking on reads too long was an issue of play design, tight man coverage, or not having enough time due to a missed block. Overall, I grade him as a B-/C+ on the day.

See full breakdown here.

Miscellaneous thoughts:
• Khari Willis is a stud. Not “going to be.” He’s there.
• Best game Okereke and Walker have played this year. I think Eberflus will start getting Okereke in on obvious passing downs now that Leonard is back.
• I’d like to see Wilkens get about 8 carries a game to take some of the load off Mack.
• Losing Turay is going to really hurt this defense.
• Brissett isn’t even looking Cain’s way 95% of the time…and I can’t really blame him. At this point, Cain needs to be strictly a 4th/5th option.
