This isn't a game thread so don't give me an F for the title (although it deserves one). I would like to hear what you freaks are looking forward to or concerned about in this game. While I do not think any one game is make or break, this is a very interesting game for me. I am really looking forward to seeing how this defense looks with two top of the line CBs, want to see what crazy Lou can come up with. We went out and got these guys specifically for guys like Mahomes, not we begin to see if it works out. My biggest concern in Jones. After looking at the last two games again, and especially after watching people who actually understand pass blocking (unlike me) it appears that many of those fumbles were Jones' fault. I am hoping it was a bad game and nothing more. I've seen QBs from Unitas to Manning shit the bed. It happens. My only concern is this is what was the big issue with Jones in NY. I am betting (and hoping) KC will go all in to stop JT (if I have learned anything from 60 years of watching the NFL it is that good team will find a way to make you one dimensional) and make Jones beat them with his arm. I think he can but he needs to prove it. If we beat KC it sets us up as true contenders in my mind, if we lose there still is time to get there but my belief in this team will take a big hit. Thoughts?

I like this mindset ...... tough love ...... even though the team is 8-2, your feeling is that the Colts need to beat the reigning, 3-time AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs on their homefield in western Missouri in order to officially put a stamp on themselves as bona-fide contenders for an AFC Championship of their own, and a trip to the Super Bowl ...... you don't want the team to rest on their laurels, and winning this game would make scoreboard watching and rooting for other teams to lose even less consequential than it already is. This thread gets an A ...... grading the thread title is pretentious bullshit, even though a lot of posters here on ColtFreaks enjoy doing it. o

My biggest defensive concern is coverage on middle of the field intermediate routes. Mainly meaning, LB coverage.
The other concern would be that ability of D-Line to keep Mahomes in the pocket. Many of his big plays come from outside the pocket. So keep him the cup.

My biggest concern is the oline and the turnovers.
I expect Kelsey to have a big game. I really wish we could make in game adjustments when the oline isn't holding up. I don't see anyway we win this game the same way I didn't see how we could beat Pittsburgh. I think we have been playing above who we are. If we're some how 9-2 after this game, then I will get excited about the post season chances and hosting a game. |

I worry about Kelce having a big day. if it were me, I would play dime with Jones on Kelce all day.
the chiefs are a bad play action team. I would do that the entire time. I would run the fucking ball all day. I hope we contain rush mahomes. make him play from the pocket. play a ton of man coverage. which we should be able to do. the chiefs have an efficient running game. that worries me some because our run d is bad I think if we win this game, we win handily. if it is close, I think we lose

Dime all day. Our linebackers can’t cover worth shit anyway. While they still have hunt, Pacheco is out with a bad knee. If Brashard Smith is in you have a corner or flat side safety ready to cover him.

I like where we’re at coming into the matchup, coming off the bye meanwhile they have a 4 o clock thanksgiving day game looming.
Anarumo knows how to scheme against Mahomes and has had a lot of success with a lot less talent. They haven’t run the ball with much success since the Pacheco injury, so we need Latu to have a huge game here |

Jones' decision-making when things break down is #1. I'll die of shock if Spagnuolo doesn't blitz us from everywhere. So if you get caught, just live to play another down, don't nuke the game.
My biggest concern outside of that is run defense because I think Anarumo is going to want to play 4-CB Dime. He put J. Jones on Metcalf and Pitts, so there's a good chance he'll match him on Kelce. If that's effective, KC will need to run us out of it and we'll be light. You could do worse than Moore and Cross as run defending DB's, but you're still light. |

Chiefs have lost one game at home since 2023, to the eagles earlier this season. They are 5-5 and in real danger of missing the playoffs. In other words, they are a desperate team.
They are a completely different animal at home. I think the chiefs will either win easily or it will be a close game they win at the end. |

Yeah Jone on Kelce is the best matchup we have on him. Franklin and Pratt are at their best moving forward blitz them on occasion on timed blitzes after the pocket has formed.
