He did a great job in replacing the recently-departed Lydell Mitchell, whom he was traded for to the Chargers just prior to the start of that season. Unfortunately, Bert Jones missed a great deal of that season because of the shoulder injury that he suffered when he was sacked by Bubba Baker in the final preseason game against the Lions. o
