Jordan Schultz
@Schultz_Report BREAKING: The #Colts are signing 6x Pro Bowl WR Keenan Allen to a 1-year deal worth up to $8.32M, multiple sources tell me. A big-time weapon for Daniel Jones, as Allen reunites with HC Shane Steichen from their days together with the Chargers in a deal done by @ZekeSandhu of @KlutchSports . https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/...819052087?s=20

@JoelAErickson · 1h Allen’s numbers last season (81 catches, 777 yards, 4 TDs) are right in line with what Michael Pittman Jr. (80 catches, 784 yards, 7 TDs) did for the Colts

Great stopgap signing to fill out the WR corps. This addresses the only spot on the roster that really felt like a weakness.

You don’t feel that DE is a weakness?

Not really. I wouldn't call it a strength, but I think Tuimoloau can give at least similar value to Paye and Key should be better than Ebukam as a DPR. It really all hinges on Latu's development. If he can take the next step and become an elite pass rusher, the unit will be above average. If not, it's probably average-below average.

I wonder if that spells a more serious problem with Pierce?

They wanna keep Downs in the slot so we essentially traded Pittman for Allen. Let’s hope Allen isn’t washed up.

He's definitely on the decline, but that's a decline from being an All-Pro. His statline in 2025 was slightly worse than Pittman’s 2025 numbers. Getting that for $8m instead of $29m seems like a good deal.
