When Peyton Manning was a rookie, the Colts were getting their heads handed to them by the Patriots by a score of 29-0 in the 4th quarter. Peyton Manning asked the Colts' QB coach (Bruce Arians) if he could take him out in the 4th quarter. Arians told Manning that that would be the worst thing that he could do to him, and told Peyton to go out and finish the game. Manning threw a TD-pass to avoid the shutout. Manning later stated that that was a very pivotal moment in his career.
