Presumably the Colts were trying to move up to draft one of the big name WR's. The sports reporter who clipped and posted the video speculated the Colts were targeting Bowers...but it seems to me that if the Colts were trying to move all the way up to 6, they were trying to nab Nabers or Odunze. |

After the trades to move up did not materialize (I bet they continued trying to move up and didn't stop with this offer to the NYG), I doubt the Colts could have scripted the draft much better. They were able to snag two players that many pundits had assigned first round grades - both have some risk and there were reasons why they were still on the board when the Colts selected, but both have a lot of potential upside as well. |

If you had told me that the Colts could walk away from the first two rounds with Laiatu Latu and Adonai Mitchell in February, I'd've taken that with no hesitation. The fact that the Colts were able to get two extra 5th round picks and turn those into potentially productive players as well is just the icing on the cake. |

Ditto what Dammy said. I thought that Ballard would pass on Latu due to athletic traits or injury concerns.
For that reason I chose Quinyon Mitchell. But I'm certainly happy with the Latu pick. |
