I think that all these writers are full of shit. I love the fact that they think that Irsay has lost his mind with Saturday. They all loved Reich/Ballard when that was initially happening, now not so much. Nobody, I mean nobody, has the faintest idea of how Saturday will do, if you are betting you would bet he would fail because almost all coaches fail. Rare one that is a winner, it is a crap shoot. I am starting to enjoy this, us against the NFL world. Much better than spinning our collective wheels in mediocrity.

There’s no realistic way he’s going to succeed in my opinion. I think it’s gonna be embarrassing, actually. I hope I’m wrong but I doubt it. As for Irsay, he’s firmly on the road to being Al Davis, who was the laughingstock of the league. Nothing about this is good for the Colts or their fans. |

You mean that short term answer he used while drafting a tackle intended to be the long term answer?

And actually if you look at the overall lack of investment he's put into bringing in new OL since the '18 draft he's clearly de-prioritized the group. |

Agree on Glenn and Marvin, although I'd lump Marshall Faulk in there as well. Not Tobin's fault that BP decided to trade Faulk and got minimal return for him. Anyway, if you draft 2 HOFers, a multi-time pro bowler and ROH member, and several other long lasting productive players in just 4 years then you're doing pretty well at that part of the job IMHO. Yes, the bargain basement Guard that had just a couple starts at LT he trusted to protect his 37 yr old immobile QB while the 3rd round rookie who has been playing LT for all of two years gets up to speed to take over protecting the 37 yr old QB. Come on man, are you seriously suggesting this was a logical move? Or one that prioritizes line play?

And of course no one knows with 100 percent certainty what will happen, but if Jeff Saturday ends up being successful, whether it’s this season or in the future, he’ll be one of the greatest coaches of all time. He’s in an impossible situation with a deeply flawed team facing a tough schedule and he’s never done any of this before. |
