I'm hoping you aren't insinuating grab Jackson and move Q to LT. That would be a horrible move IMO and only do that as an emergency.

My feelings:
Sign Villanueva (or similar) to a 1-2 year deal but still use one of first two picks on OT. Maybe pick #2 since its supposed to be deep draft for OTs. Also this lets rookie learn under a good vet since they say sometimes it takes OL a bit of time to acclimate. They will resign rhodes, but look to draft a corner in later rounds. They will bide their time and watch market for TE, possibly another CB. Look to add a solid-to-top WR without overspending. If not, resign TY assuming he is not priced out. Other pick of first 2 picks that doesnt go to OT will be DL. |

Usually what Ballard does is he rounds out the team as much as he can with FA. He will test a couple top flight FA he likes, but they usually get out bid. Then he can go more BPA in the draft.

Pass rusher has to be addressed, need someone that can run down Allen and Mahomes type QBs. The difference in the playoff game was Allen running circles around our defense

I'm an advocate of bringing in a veteran OF like Veldheer, who performed well for us, and drafting a LT early.
I wanna have options. |

He only comes out for the playoffs.

There are not many teams out there with cap space to "outbid" anyone this season. Sure, the top 10-15 free agents will get multiple offers but once those guys are past, there is just not enough cap space out there to pay premium prices on good to solid players.

We may see a larger number of short term deals so that players can get the bigger payday they seek when the cap goes back up in a year or two.

I suspect we don't sign a LT, but plan on drafting one. But a RG could be an option in free agency (but I could also see us drafting a guard).
Allen Robinson at WR is an interesting case. His last 2 years in Chicago he put up some pretty good stats despite having Trubisky as his QB. And you know that Reich likes tall receivers. 6'2-3" isn't huge, but still taller than average for WR. I'm curious about Shaquil Barrett. Dude had 20 sacks in 2019. But I don't know if he would translate to the Colts defense, his numbers jumped tremendously going from Denver to Tampa, probably because he was a better fit in Bowles' weird 3-4 D. |
