I have no idea if there are any realistic candidates within the existing assistant coaches. I am sure that Ballard has his eyes on some young defensive assistant though. I doubt we would go with a retread coach.

Having just seen that Gus Bradley is being linked with the Raiders DC position, he would be a perfect fit for the Colts. He was DC with Seattle and is the current Chargers DC, would fit our defensive style perfectly.

Since he has done such a good job with the team at-large, I would ask Chris Ballard what he thought.

I may not necessarily let him make the choice, but I would ask for his input first and foremost.
