Sounds like we might be waiting awhile tomorrow night too:
Chris Ballard ended his press conference tonight by saying, "We might not be done. There's gonna be a lot of interest in that 34th pick." |

And anyone upset about passing on Sweat, you can GTFOH with those hot takes. You have no idea what those medicals looked like. Lots of good options available on Day 2. Will be fun to see what they do. |

Don't like the trade with Sweat on the board, but apparently Ballard didn't like Sweat as much as dropping down 20 spots to only get a 2020 2nd. That said, Ballard has earned trust at this point, and I'm sure he'll get some good players in the building. I think it's going to be a long time before the Colts get another shot at a talent like Sweat, though.

If you listened to his presser he was asked about Sweat. He made a face and said I'm not going to get into that. But he is a good. Good player. So my take is its medicals. https://www.colts.com/video/

Taking a look after the draft + UDFA signings, it appears to me that the Colts HEAVILY scouted Simmons, Sweat and Abram. There are 4 of their Mississippi State teammates that were either drafted (Green in Round 6), signed to UDFA contracts or invited to a rookie mini-camp tryout. One of the reason the combine is in Indy, they have two big hospitals who are willing to give the NFL a day to do all this tests. And it's all downtown, close to the stadium. |
