Last year, the Detroit Lions went 3-13-1.

In the last 4 years combined between 2018 and 2021, the Lions went 17-46-2.

In 2022 the Lions started the season at 1-6, and it looked like it was going to be another dreary season in Motown ...... but in the 7 games since then the Lions have gone 6-1, with their only loss coming on a last-second field goal to the juggernaut Buffalo Bills.

The Lions had back-to-back winning seasons in 2016 and 2017, earning a playoff berth in the former ...... after 4 consecutive losing seasons since then, the Lions righted their ship for a winning campaign in 2022.

The Lions finished the 2022 season with a respectable 9-8 record.

They are 7-2 so far in 2023.

They have come a looooong way since their 3-13-1 record only 2 short years ago in 2021.

If the Lions beat the Bears today, it will be the first time since 1991 that they would have 8 wins before Thanksgiving Day ...... those 1991 Lions made it to the NFC Championship game, and it (1991) was also the season in which a partially-paralyzed Mike Utley gave the thumbs-up signal to the Lions fans in the stadium as he was being carted off of the field.
