The Boston Braves' inaugural season in the NFL was in 1932.

One year later in 1933, they changed their name to the "Redskins."

4 years later in 1936, the franchise left Massachusetts for the nation's Capital, and became the Washington Redskins.

84 years later, under intense pressure from billionaire companies saying that they would no longer sponsor/support/sell the team's memorabilia with the name "Redskins" attached to it, the team's owner has announced that the name will be officially retired.

The Washington Post polled Native Americans in 2004 on whether or not they were offended by the team's name. 90% said they weren't.

They did the poll again in 2016 with updated methods... 90% again didn't have an issue with the team name.
