While I agree with most of this, I would still like to make a few points.
  • There really is no such thing as a quick crossing route. Generally they take time to develop.
  • The offense is doing most of what you're suggesting. The problem is, the defense knbows what's coming.
  • We need Keenan Allen for the slants, that we couldn't use Sunday.
  • The O-Line played like crap in pass pro Sunday. No excuses there.
  • A misnomer that some fans have, is that you can't beat a cover zero heavy pass rush or blitz deep. This is totally untrue. You can run double sluggus, with max protect from your RB and TE's. It has to be ti,img patterns though. The QB has to see his best matchup and just let it fly, and let his WR go get it.
