I can't remember a modern day NFL coach jettisoning players who either under perform or don't fit the culture of the team the way that Steichen has.

If any of you guys can think of a coach such as I'm describing, please comment.

Steichen is clearly the guy calling the shots. Where as Reich, was just along for the ride and let Ballard call the shots.

Steichen kind of reminds me of a modern day Lombardi.

If true that's pretty messed up by McKenzie and Brown. Not sure if this is related, but Rodney Thomas' father was busted earlier this year for killing a bald eagle.

Why hasn't the Players Association said anything about this? You'd think they'd step in on behalf of two guys who just got summarily dumped without pay, especially if they're vested vets (not sure if they are). Have they not had enough time for a formal reaction? Was the matter so egregious that they don't want to touch it? Just a bizarre situation.

I am glad Steichen has balls and high standards though. I want a head coach who doesn't fuck around.
