I'm over it. I'm disappointed but there is next year.
Sports always involve streaks. Eventually it was their turn to lose and have a bad game. We had to wait for the 19th game to get really pissed off. We are so use to it around the 17th game. This team exceeded many preseason predictions. There were many young players stepped up. There was no Harrison or Gonzo. The defense has finally made Sanders a non factor. Now they need to figure out how to play without Freeney. They may have solved the curse at DT. Everyone wants to jump all over the coaching staff but this is their first time as a collective and they made it to the Super Bowl. I'm sure they wish they could have done things differently. Maybe not. When the Bears lost the Super Bowl, the organization made some emotional firings instead of rational. Now they have trouble finding coaches. Just remember many of these younger players will be better next year. After this loss Manning will be less content with his work ethic. I can see them back there next year. This isn't a team with it's last shot of winning it all. There are not really many holes to fill next year. Special Teams still need attention. They still need a return man. They need to find a younger kicker to replace Stover and Vinateri. It didn't take long for people to adjust their yardstick on Manning. He's back to being a choker with another MVP. If you look at all of the professional sports, you have stars that get you there but as the post season progresses team play becomes more important. We tend to neglect a season more and crown heroes and goats in the post season. At one time Bucky Dent was a household name. It was still a great season and this team is still very young and they might be even better next year. |

I'm not over it...will be tough...although the last two exits were even harder to take. I guess I'd rather go 2-1 or 3-1 in the playoffs than 0-1. Left too much out there. 14-0 would have looked better than 10-0, then maybe 13-3 at half versus 10-6. Cannot get over that on side....because I wouldn't be surprised (as someone posted earlier) if at some point a ref verbalized "colt ball" only to have it stolen away by someone twisting your balls at the bottom of a pile.

They will remain in contention as long as Manning is playing and healthy. Really he made one mistake the whole game from a passing standpoint and NO capitalized. The difference was Brees played mistake free pretty much.
Almost the whole team will be back. Tough to win it all with a rookie head coach. The offense is stacked top to bottom at WR and RB and I still feel good about the D. We'll see if Sanders can play next year. May be his last chance with he Colts, or in the league, if he cannot once again. Give Coyer another year to work with the D and they can improve Disappointing, but I am still glad they won the AFC and made it as far as they did. Draft should be LB, OL, DT, secondary in that order As for Manning, I never was of the thought that one more title would change much in people's minds. He needs two more SB wins to cement himself as arguably the greatest ever. I don't know if that will happen, but he has 5-6 years left and they will be in the hunt each year. |

Good stuff. This team did VASTLY exceed preseason expectations. The difference between the Colts and New Orleans; New Orleans' roster falls apart after this season. Our roster will remain virtually intact. We go after our weak areas in the draft and our two young receivers get one year better. Reggie's knee gets well. Dwight's ankle gets well. And..... "Once more unto the breach, dear friends...."

Judging players by Super Bowls is totally retarded. There should be players from the Bills and Vikings that should be removed from the Hall. Besides if they won last night, then the critics would say he needs 3 rings, no wait 4 rings. |

There's a new era than changes everything. The salary cap era. That's why I think it's retarded to judge players on Super Bowls.

The Saints won't be back in the SB next year. They have too many holes to fill on their roster and I believe they shot their wad after this season. They got their championship, now they will go back to being the Aints.
Carolina and Atlanta will challenge NO for the divisional title.

No matter how many rings Peyton ends up it will never be enough. They will always say he needed one more to cement himself as the greatest ever. Even if he would have pulled an Otto Grahm and played in 10 Championship games and won 7, they would say he should have won 8 or 9, or even all 10. He is held to an impossible standard. Given some of the Colts teams he has endured, it's absurd to even say he has to have 3-4 rings to prove himself.
Peyton has taken teams that were probably 8-8 or 9-7 at best and took them to 12-4, 13-3 and done it consistently. I think the media and us as fans put undue expectations on him to win multiple Championships with some of the lesser talent other teams are afforded. Give him a defense that remotely resembles some of the past great Championship teams and he would have 5 rings by now. Teams win Championships, not single players. Peyton doesn't play DB,LB,DE or DT. He plays quarterback and does a pretty good job of it. I will be right back supporting the summabitches come August, i'll also be complaining they suck, but hey, they're my team and I am allowed to do that. Is it August yet?

I feel bad for Manning...all the sudden, with his really good year, the 14-2, and the two nice playoff wins, media gets in a frenzy about "best ever". It's not like PM is tooting his own horn and is outwardly laying claim to it. It's not like he is demanding these stories be written. He an NFL player of high caliber who just wants to play football and win.
