Apparently CIN is going to resign Hendrickson from what I'm reading. Maybe letting him test the waters so they could negotiate off of that.

I guess it looks like CIN is taking the 2000's Colts approach: paying their monster player makers half the money and making do with the rest.

We had like 50% of our cap tied up with 7 or 8 guys: Manning, Freeney, Harrison, Wayne, Sanders, Mathis, Diem and Glenn.

That approach actually worked pretty well, when Sanders was healthy and before Marvin's knee injury.

Agree, I wasn't shitting on it. It's interesting looking back at those contracts. At the time they were signed (I think this is accurate):

-Manning was the highest paid player ever
-Harrison was the highest paid receiver
-Wayne was paid top-10 money as a #2
-Freeney was highest paid defensive player ever
-Mathis was paid top-10 as a #2
-Glenn was a top-10 LT
-Diem was a top-10 RT
-Sanders was the highest paid DB

That was right in the thick of that second best 5-year run in NFL history: 65-13 (.813).

Only team better was the Patriots from the same time: 66-12 (.825).
