Default Roster/Practice Squad

We have a little over a week to go to the start of the season. The 53 man roster and 16 man practice squad are set, at least initially. I'm wondering what you folks think of this team. Not just the individual players but how this roster is constructed. Ballard said when he started that he was going to build a team from the trenches. It appears he meant it. He wants to dominate on both sides. I think there is a chance we just may be able to do that. I'm looking forward to seeing how the defensive line actually stacks up against a real NFL offensive line. Mostly the ends. They have potential, something I haven't felt for a long time, but they haven't done shit yet. Same with our wide receivers, potential but nothing of note yet. If this season is to be successful some guys are going to need to step up. Who do you all think can or will do that? Like to talk some football with people who care.

I feel like if we have everyone playing, and wentz plays solid, we can win the south and make a playoff run. I think maybe a year or two from a possible championship though.

I think the team is solidly constructed. We could probably use another good corner. But the season will come down to how Wentz plays and if the pass rush improves.

Look, a former Texicans starting WR is on our practice squad. We also have multiple players who were former starters, on other teams, that either couldn't make the cut or are backups for us.

I do agree that I do have a concern at CB though. Also the WR group has to step and play to their potential, especially because TY will be out for a few weeks and Pascal is questionable for week 1.

My only other concern is can Davenport hold up until Fisher comes back.

I'm not sure, but we may now be the youngest team in the NFL.

We have a deep, deep DL, but Paye and Turay have to deliver. If the preseason is any indicator our DL has the ability to dominate all game long.

we have a decently constructed roster but a lot of question marks at the most important positions.

can we generate a pass rush from the edge this year?

is wentz going to play well? probably not and fuck him

corner is sketchy.

tackle depth is a problem but is for most teams.

I’d feel a lot better if Castonzo was still around.

Wentz will probably miss at least one game for COVID, if not more.

Cornerback will be a bigger issue than many think because I have no faith whatsoever that Rhodes will repeat his performance from last year and there’s nothing behind him.

I really like what Ballard is trying to do here. Not sure it is going to work but if it does it will be great to root for. I'm looking forward to the season, got nothing to do so thought I'd bore you folks a little with my thoughts a week out

QB Huge question mark that will be interesting to see how it turns out. Not
only initially but more importantly can Wentz handle adversity? Who the
hell knows and that sucks in of itself.

RB Feel really good here, like most of us. Taylor is a stud. I think most of us
hope Hines gets more touches. With Hilton sidelined we need explosiveness

TE Is Granson going to be reliable or am I going to be cursing at my TV over
drops

OL Big question marks to me. Does Kelly's elbow hold up, Nelson's foot, can
Davenport provide a stop gap until we get Fischer back and when we get
him back what are we actually getting? Small concern that they have not
played as a unit this year

DL How do these ends play against real offensive lines. Can we get anything
out of Banogu, is Turay back as a speed DE, is Paye the complete package
he appears to be. Guys look great against back ups and suck against first
stringers all the time. This defense cannot take the next step unless a
couple of these guys are for real

LB Can Okereke take the next step and be a dominant linebacker, can Speed
handle increased responsibilities

CB Pretty worried here. I'm not confident Rhodes can repeat last year and
Ya-Sin inspires no confidence with his erratic play. I hope somebody steps
up that is a surprise.

ST Feel pretty good about them as a whole. This is a nice change as for years
I rooted for shit special teams.

It will be nice to get football back

I have no idea why it came out in this format
