Yep, and they can do the same type of thing with someone like McCoy. With the Houston signing, Ballard is obviously not shying away from signing some players on the downside of their career. If the guy can help, then bring him in if/when he's released. He doesn't have to be a every down player.

Are you guys arguing about signing or trading for McCoy. Because there is no way in hell I would trade for him.
Didn't we once bring in an even younger Tommie Harris and he failed to make the team? I'm not comparing the players, because I believe McCoy has been the better player on a worse team. |

Exactly why I don't think Ballard is going to do it with McCoy. Ballard has made it clear he wants to grow his own. I could definitely be wrong but I don't see the signing of Houston as indicative of a change in philosophy. I see it as the exception. A high character guy Ballard knows well who plays a position of huge need. Times gonna tell.

The Colts signed free agent edge rusher Dadi Nicolas. He was originally selected by Kansas City in the 2016 NFL draft and has since bounced around the league a little bit.
In a corresponding move, the Colts waived cornerback Jamal Peters with an injury settlement https://www.colts.com/news/colts-sig...r-dadi-nicolas |

Let me get this straight. You're saying that you like Peters?

I don't have a problem working him out and signing him as a free agent. 2 year deal 1 year guaranteed @ $7-9 million.
