The Boston Braves' inaugural season in the NFL was in 1932. One year later in 1933, they changed their name to the "Redskins." 4 years later in 1936, the franchise left Massachusetts for the nation's Capital, and became the Washington Redskins. 84 years later, under intense pressure from billionaire companies saying that they would no longer sponsor/support/sell the team's memorabilia with the name "Redskins" attached to it, the team's owner has announced that the name will be officially retired. I like the "ESTABLISHED 1932" portion of the logo, because it acknowledges that their franchise originated in Boston. o

Heh, a lot of these teams have moved all over the place. Only a few I think have stayed in their original cities.

I've been thinking that Washington Redtape would be the most appropriate new team name.
They could even keep their colors. And their indecisiveness. |
