Default Pressure Ryan, Contain Jones

Week 1, Ryan was sacked 4 times against a tough Vikings Defense, but tossed 2 INTs and 2 TDs.

Week 2, Ryan was sacked only once, but tossed 3 INTs and also managed 3 TDs. The difference between game 1 and 2 seems to be that the viking were able to hold Julio Jones to pedestrian numbers (6 catches, 31 yards, 5.2 avg). In the PHI game, Jones had nearly the same number of catches, but was able to get some big plays (5 catches, 106 yards, 21.2 avg)

I think if we can get some pressure on Ryan (Atlanta has a decent OL), meanwhile keeping Jones under control we have a defensive formula that will work. Desir's status will be pretty key, not just if he will play, but if he does play, will he be healthy. If not, there will be a good bit of pressure on Wilson to step up. Also on Hooker, Willis, Geathers.

What's their running game like? (I haven't tracked them at all)
I'm suspecting they can't run like SD and Tenn did, and if Ryan is throwing that many INTs, then I think our D can get the job done. Desir and Turay will be the injuries most crucial.

They are a passing offense. But we have a hard time taking away big name receivers. Riley Ridley is becoming a good player also. He was my favorite WR in last year’s draft.

To score we need to run outside and run away from their DT.

On defense, the Colts will try to do what they always do: pressure with 4 or 5, and give up the short pass. It's the same recipe that worked well against the Colts offense last week. Tennessee played soft in coverage and forced short throws. If the Colts can do the same and get home with 4 (and defend the run), it will really inhibit what the Falcons can do.

34 carries, 130 yards on the season, 3.8 per. I don't feel frightened by their run game.

Freeman doesnt seem (so far) like the rusher he used to be: 19 for 41, 2.2 per. I guess they have had a good many OL injuries.

i don't think we will be able to stop their offense all day.

brissett will more than likely have to put up close to 30 points to win this one.

the falcons running game has been trash but i could see that improving this week.

I agree - Atlanta is going to move the ball and score on this D. Turnovers are always big, but I think even more so in this matchup. Ryan has been throwing the ball up for grabs. With the conservative offense Colts are going to need a couple takeaways. Need to be +2 in takeaways I think or it’s going to be tough to keep up.

Keep the ball away. Run to the outside. Put pressure on Ryan to make big plays to keep up. Capitalize on turnovers they have been making lately.
