I'm not saying rivers is better than Brissett, or that Eason is our QB answer. I'm saying we traded a year of our Qb development (whoever that may have been) for our Philip rivers shot at the Super Bowl.

For the latter portion, ask any AFC South rival about the last 20 years prior to 2019. It was much more enjoyable to watch an 11-5 team that had a puncher's chance in the playoffs than it would've been to watch an 5-11 team where all the talent on this roster went to waste.

o

Correct.

The Colts also choked away the Steelers game late in the season, but they certainly showed (even in that disastrous of a collapse game) that they were right up there with the best teams in the AFC in 2020. And even though they lost to the Ravens in the regular season, they gave the Bills a much better run for their money in the playoffs than did that same Ravens team ...... in my rat's ass of an opinion, this was unquestionably a complete (or near complete) team that was a bona-fide contender for the AFC championship and a trip to the Super Bowl.

Maybe with a few additions. As it is we are middle of the pack team. If we weren't we would still be playing. Every losing team has a good reason why they 'should' have won. This team has only shown that it can lose respectably to playoff teams.

That's not necessarily true, at all. Middle-of-the-pack teams don't go 11-5, and barely lose a playoff game to a top-flight team like the 2020 Bills. NFL history is loaded with very good, even sometimes great teams that have lost in the post-season, from the 1998 Vikings to the 1976 Steelers to the 2005 Colts to the 1968 Colts, and many more. All of those teams lost in the post-season, and nobody in their right mind would say that they were middle-of-the-pack teams because of it. So barely losing to the Bills in the playoffs doesn't necessarily relegate the Colts to a middle-of-the-pack team, as you assert.

I don't think there is a huge difference between middle of the pack and elite in the NFL. A couple of playmakers in the right positions and we are in the fight. Unfortunately, one of those positions we need to improve on is qb.

Solid O-line, solid defense, great running back, we don’t need a hero at qb just someone that can threaten the entire field and buy a little time when needed with his legs

Apparently not or Ballard wouldn't be looking for a QB.

So until Mortensons dumb ass report last year the guy projected to be late 1st or early 2nd round pick will probably never be ready? How so?
