If ever there was a person whose death should circumvent the correct forum policy, it's the great Jim Brown ...... not only was he a great football player, but he was also an incredibly brave civil-rights activist who backed Muhammad Ali when he was in his greatest time of need.

Former Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown presides over a meeting of top African-American athletes on June 4, 1967, to show support for boxer Muhammad Ali’s refusal to fight in Vietnam. Those present are: (front row) Bill Russell, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Lew Alcindor; (back row) Carl Stokes, Walter Beach, Bobby Mitchell, Sid Williams, Curtis McClinton, Willie Davis, Jim Shorter, and John Wooten.

He was a freak of nature. 6' 2', 230 and 4.5 40 time. Average D-linemen at this time were 225, LBers 215, CBs and safety's were 185.

He was bigger than most players, stronger than most and faster than any player on the field. Add to that his iron will, he was the best player in football for nine years.

Most centers of that era were Jim Brown's size.
