So, now coaching does matter? Which is it?

It's that you choose to glean what you want from my posts rather than actually reading them. A lack of creativity and aggressiveness on offense was my biggest criticism of Pagano, and what I believe ultimately cost him his job. There was nothing to criticize on defense, he was never given the parts he needed and the little talent he was given made Pro Bowls. If you ask someone to build a house and don't provide lumber or concrete, you can't be surprised when the resulting structure isn't structurally sound.

Ballard clearly has a vision, though, and if that requires a different coach to implement, so be it. I want a front office that is going to impose a winning culture on the team by any means necessary. I just hope that Ballard recognizes the importance of investing heavily in defense, though the early returns on that front are at least encouraging.

I agree, with as much time as he had missed, anyone expecting him to come out looking like a probowler the first 1/2 of the season is likely to be disappointed

Whoa...Whoa...Whoa, you had more than one post where you pointed out how coaching doesn't matter in the NFL.

You have obviously back peddled from that stance to at least some degree.

Now, step up and say that you were wrong.

Show me the post where I said "coaching doesn't matter in any capacity to winning football games" or something similar to that, and I will. You won't find it, because I never said it. We disagree on magnitudes, and I'm done with the argument. I'll continue to believe what the data says, you believe...whatever you're using to come to your conclusion.

If he would just acknowledge the truth that Pagano sucks ass asa head coach, then people would give him a break. However, he refuses, so the ridicule is justified.

It shows exactly what type of person you are that you can't let a difference of opinion go.
