Woods was placed on IR due to a hamstring injury.

Due to that designation, he has to miss at least 4 games and so the earliest that he could be back is Week 5.

If the Colts thought he was "done for the year," they wouldn't have bothered with placing him on the final 53 on final cut down day....they would have just IR'ed him in training camp and then his season would have been over.

I could see a big target like Jelani becoming a favorite target for AR if he is able to come back!

Seems that Jelani has now injured his other hamstring during rehab.

Looks like he will continue to be out for a while.

TE Jelani Woods had a setback with his other hamstring during his rehabilitation, per Shane Steichen

Steichen does not know if it will be season-ending.

He tore his hamstring pretty bad I believe. Takes a long time to heal.

They get reinjured quickly, if not given the proper time to heal. Then comes the mental aspect of not really trusting it to not pull again. it's tough.

Yes, but Steichen indicated that the setback was due to Woods aggravating his other hamstring.

He mentions it at just before the 4:30 mark of this video press conference:

Comes from over compensating for the injured one. Hammy issues suck and tend to linger for a whole season.
