You guys are wishing so hard that you have lost any ability to be realistic. This team is a train wreck and its not getting better until it is gutted and rebuilt. Its time for a fire sale. We have idled in mediocrity since Ballard got here. The rebuild needs to start there.

If it were the Carr before we ended his excellent season a few years ago, I would be all in. But not interested in the current version.

If we are going to do that, we should have just signed Baker Mayfield.

I will say, if Steichen and/or Ballard are fired after the season, all bets are off.

It will depend entirely on who they hire at that point.
I have my doubts about whether he'll ever be an even acceptable QB let alone the answer to our long suffering need for a QB. However, it would cost more to just cut him than to keep him for another year. Read him the riot act, tell him to get his shit together because he's on his last ride. If he gets it, maybe, just maybe he can be productive. If not, release him after June 2026. In the meantime, dump a bunch of these players and get draft choices. Completely dump management and try and get a fuckin' competitive team before I die of old age.

No doubt there's a lot of wishful thinking, but there's some objectivity to that. Most NFL players make the most improvement between their 1st and 2nd seasons where they've had plenty of on field reps their rookie year and a healthy offseason to make improvements. The shoulder injury robbed AR of both for his rookie year. Now AR has had plenty of reps and (at least at face value) will have a healthy offseason, so he very well could make that year 2 leap and be much improved in '25. Not saying that it's going to happen, especially if the Colts are blowing smoke about his back and it's going to keep him sidelined for god knows how long, but crazier things have happened.

With that being said I would like to see us draft a QB prospect if one falls to us in rounds 2+ in the draft or maybe take a look at trading for JJ McCarthy in case AR doesn't make said leap.

Yeah, Carr's washed up. We'd be better off just sticking w/ AR and Flacco.
