Default Peyton on Pascal's TD vs Houston

http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=25525931

Good clip here.

Regarding the play, Reich said:

Quote:
“The route will forever go in our clinic reel tape of how to run what we call a ‘shin, pump.’ It was absolutely pure as far as the detail and the technique and fundamentals and it couldn’t have been any better.”

2nd year player, UDFA in 2017 and on TEN practice squad. He has been active and playing in all 13 games for us this season (so, really a rookie in playing time).

36 targets, 22 receptions, 61.1% catch rate, 215 yards, 9.8 ypc, 2 TD.

I typically like to see WRs over 65% catch rate but he has not been horrible in that department. 9.8 ypc is nice to see.

The only proven WR for 2019 is Hilton; everything else is unproven. The only guys that I would like to see on the roster next season from our current roster are:

T.Y. Hilton, 29 years old for 2019

Dontrelle Inman, 30 years old for 2019

Zach Pascal, 24 years old for 2019

Deon Cain, 23 years old for 2019

Reece Fountain, 23 years old for 2019

Interesting quote from his NFL.com draft profile on Fountain:
Quote:
One-year wonder with the requisite height, weight, and speed numbers to interest teams looking for a plus athlete to develop. While Fountain should test well, his route running and ball skills aren't where they need to be and the jump in competition will make that transition challenging.
So, two veterans and three developmental kids.

I would still like to add at least two more bodies prior to training camp; one veteran and one draftee.

Pascal, Cain and Fountain are all potential and until they prove that they have arrived, that is all they are. Chester Rogers has been given EVERY opportunity to shine as a prospect and he has failed. Ryan Grant? Get off my team!

Hopefully, coaching can develop those three young men (and a rookie) into a pass catching group that can complement T.Y. and the TEs better than in 2018.

Walk Worthy,

I see the Colts as having...

WR1 - Hilton, obviously

WR2 - Cain is the only on-roster possibility to fit this role, and even then, you're asking a lot for a guy who's never played a NFL down to come back and be WR2 caliber

WR3 - (I don't really know if this team has a slot receiver on its roster, tbh. Maybe Pascal made a recent case, but to me, your slot is usually a crisp-route runner who can make contested catches over the middle. We've seen instances of good route-running and good hands from Pascal ... but we've also seen at least 2 INTs result from passes bouncing off Pascal's hands, so who knows?)

WR4 - The glut of players on the roster: Pascal, Inman, etc. Basically: possession receivers who can sit in a zone and catch passes from an accurate QB, but who can't be asked to generate anything on their own talent.

WR5 - Chester Rogers. The difference between WR4/5 probably isn't hugely meaningful, but this is where I'd stick specialists who bring little to the field even as a possession target.

Jury out on - Reece Fountain. We just don't know. He could be a WR4/5 next year or he could be a camp cut.

I'm into the idea of Hilton/Cain/Pascal/and whoever wins the camp battle between Inman-Fountain (you could bring back Inman for nothing) returning, and adding 1 FA + 1 draft pick.

These are fantastic. Even when it's not about the Colts, PFM's insights on game tape is almost - almost - awesome enough to watch to make me subscribe to ESPN+.

I know he's said multiple times that he's got no interest in broadcasting, but I would really love him in the booth calling games.

It would be so much better than listening to Witten and Romo. They are fucking painful.

I still think Romo is pretty good, but Witten makes me wish for Chris Collinsworth, and that should tell you all you need to know.
