Brissett is a great back up. I don't dislike the guy, I think he is an excellent number two man, just not as a starter.

I don't think anyone is advocating for bringing him back as "the guy" going forward, more like a 1 year stopgap to allow a rookie to develop.

That is exactly what I'm worried about, a wasted year. Not sure what any QB can learn watching Brissett play. In the QB room, yes. On the field?

I am still thinking it is one of: Dalton, Trubisky or Newton on a 2-year, $18-20m contract to show us if they deserve a longer / more lucrative one, to see if Easton is ready or to find the next long term QB.
