Pineiro
Colts signed Eddy Pineiro, last of the Bears, to a one year deal at placekicker. Has a big leg. Blankenship was 1-3 on FG >50. Competition is good at every position.

Looks like both players brought their A game to the kicking competition

I admit, I dont know how camp works. but it always seems odd to me when they show kicking stats. do they really only kick 3 times per day? or is that referring to simulated plays or what?

I feel like this has to be during full ST practice or something with defenders pressuring, no way they are kicking that few times total.

They will take a lot more reps in individual drills by kicking off a tee or with a holder, but those numbers don't mean as much if you cannot kick the ball with a trajectory over the outstretched arms of an opposing line. |

I think that Pineiro has to outkick Specs to win the job.
To be the champ, you need to beat the champ. Either way, great news that neither has missed. It will only make the eventual winner that much more ready for the pressure of the season. |

i get what you mean but I would go with incumbent vs champ is this case.

They say Pineiro has a really strong leg. Which is Specs weakness.
Could go either way, IMO. |

Metaphors...why do you always fail me! Also, I think all else being equal, go with the younger guy. |
