Until you give a guy a chance to see what he can do, you never truly know what you have.

This dude was compared to Ed Reed coming out of the draft— fuck that I’ve seen enough to call bullshit this mf is on the verge of bust status, when he misses games I don’t even notice

I think he does what is asked of him pretty well. I don’t think the scheme puts him in the best position to male a play. He is more a deterrent than a safety that is opportunistic. Ed Reed was in a system that allowed him to be opportunistic. If we were running that system I bet he would have more picks.

Again, I just wanted to say that I have nothing against Jacoby Brissett. My last few posts come off sounding a bit brutal, but I do hope he improves and can eventually get to where he needs to be. I just don't see it right now. He's going to be starting next year, too, so I hope he makes a leap between now and then.

Interceptions are not the sole importance stat but that's a big part of what made Ed Reed great.... but take a look. Ed Reed had a INT 36% ratio of his games Malik Hooker INT in 21% ratio of his games Ideas Bashir INT in 8% ratio of his games. Now while he is no Ed Reed how many safeties were or are him? Also Ed Reed benefitted from one of the best Defenses in history for most years. It allowed him to do what he did. Image a Terrel Suggs and Ray Lewis added to this D... not to mention the other great players. And as mentioned Malik is doing what he has been asked to do. While he is not close to being an Ed Reed he sure as hell shouldn't be compared to Idrees Bashir..... that's just being dumb! Last edited by Luck4Reich; 11-27-2019 at 09:38 AM. |

He is closer to Ed Reed than Idrees Bashir. Pretty far from both but closer to Reed. And he is better than the majority of guys taken before him.

I read an article about the top 25 players under 25 years of age. It gave Hooker Honorable Mention, and stated that opponents have started to avoid throwing anywhere near him again, like they had learned to do before his surgery. That is much closer to Ed Reed than Bashir.
