Brian Flores is Suing the NFL
o
The author of this article argues that the history of the NFL's behavior shows that nothing else (besides force) will work. Force is the Only Thing that NFL Owners Understand in the Fight for Racial Justice (By William C. Rhoden) https://theundefeated.com/features/f...espn:frontpage o

Well with this now being 2 individuals claiming the same thing- can we just skip forward, affirm that this is systemic, and finally be rid with the turd that is Roger Goodell?
Seriously, this has to be the final straw right, the dude cannot be this level of teflon. Time for him to finally be shitcanned! |

The sham interview thing is insane. If you force teams to interview minorities, there are gonna be sham interviews. It’s inevitable.
Teams know who they want to hire. The NFL made their own bed here and now they can lie in it. I have no sympathy for them. |

Can someone explain this lawsuit to me? I don't understand the suit and I've honestly never understood the Rooney Rule. I was a junior or senior in high school when it started and even as a kid it didn't make sense to me.
What is the goal? |

I'm sure there is some unfairness going on and that shame interviews do go on b/c of the Rooney rule (although there are probably some coaches who have landed jobs b/c they impressed in an interview that they may not have been invited to). If you look at the percentages though, at least those quoted in the article, other than head coach there doesn't seem to be a problem. Or at least nowhere near the problem Flores and the media seem to think there is considering that 12% of the US population is black.
Only one of the NFL’s 32 teams (3%) employs a Black head coach. Only four of the NFL’s 32 teams (12%) employ a Black offensive coordinator. Only 11 of the NFL’s 32 teams (34%) employ a Black defensive coordinator. Only three of the NFL’s 32 teams (9%) employ a Black quarterback coach. Only six of the NFL’s 32 teams (19%) employ a Black general manager. Flores definitely did get screwed by the Phins, but the Giants probably did him a favor b/c they're a complete dumpster fire right now. Also, the whole Belicheat text evidence seems pretty suspect. Why would the NYG or Buff be consulting him on their hiring decisions? |

Although to be fair to Flores and his lawsuit - it is super ricockulous that guys like McDickface are getting 2nd chances before guys like Flores, Marvin Lewis, etc. |
