This is a huge challenge to this team. We need to see it as such. Injuries happen all the time. These are tough ones however. I hope all the negative things that will be written about this team pisses them off. Keep that number one draft choice, improve through the year and find a way to sneak into the playoffs. Then rumble. I'm prepared for an ugly first few weeks. No big deal. I've lived through ugly decades with this team.

Jim needs to hire a priest or shaman or whatever to go in there and do a cleansing ritual to drive the negative stuff away. Like on the "spirit post" episode of MASH.

Assuming Kelly is only out for a couple of weeks, and Pinter is also ok, i guess the opening day lineup is likely to be Tevi, Pinter, Kelly, Glowinski and Smith? Or do we think Chris Reed wins the LG spot? This really is far from ideal, but hopefully Fisher is back after a couple of weeks, and then who knows maybe Nelson is back shortly after that.
We have a a solid group of backups with experience such as Tevi 58/44, Reed 47/23, Hunt 35/11, even Will Holden 13/8. Then there's Danny Pinter who played 13 games last year with 1 start. Do we want any of these guys to be full time starters probably not, but they do have real game time experience as starters, so hopefully we can survive by scheming our playbook to their strengths and try to negate as much as possible their weaknesses. |
