There’s a ‘Good Possibility’ That Colts Veteran Pro Bowl Center Ryan Kelly Will Return for Week 15

Bortolini has been good, and Pinter played well against the Cheats. Center is not the position of concern on the OL. Getting Braden back and having Glow going forward should solidify the OL.

As is the case in baseball where you can never have too much pitching, you can't presume that a position is necessarily fine if a substitute has a good game. I'm glad that Pinter played well against the Patriots, but I would much rather have (and take my chances) with a healthy, 4-time Pro Bowler like Ryan Kelly for the long haul.

Bortolini has been better than Kelly, though. He just had a concussion last week. If Kelly is healthy, I don't doubt they'll start him, but it seems like Bortolini is the better option going forward.

Maybe.

But I'd still rather have a solid, proven, All-Pro like Kelly healthy in a sport in which 2 players can get knocked out of a game in the span of 3 or 4 plays ...... if Bortolini is (at most) minimally better than Kelly, than having Kelly healthy and playing is better in the long run than having Bortolini playing and keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't get injured.

DNVR sportswriter l Zac Stevens l compared, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 draft, Richardson, to Tim Tebow, saying if he has a good day against the Broncos, it could be a problem.

“Anthony Richardson is a guy that is still very much developing here,” Stevens said on the “DNVR Broncos Podcast” on December 11. “He’s got the size, the arm, he can run. … But this is a guy that, if he shreds this Broncos’ defense this week, then we’ve got a problem."

“I’m saying all this because he’s not going to ...... he is not going to shred this Broncos, defense. This is a guy that turns the ball over more than he scores. This is a guy that was benched for Joe Flacco. And then, Joe Flacco was so bad that they went back to Anthony Richardson and like I said, he doesn’t complete 50% of his passes. This year, he’s at 47.4% completion. The Broncos are going to lock Anthony Richardson down through the air."

Even Anthony Richardson skeptics would not compare him to a slow, lumbering, below-average passer like Tim Tebow. The writer is ignoring the fact that Richardson has not only had many passes dropped by his receivers, but also the fact that he has improved significantly since being benched back in early November.

When Tebow played for the Broncos, his team was 8-5 heading into the final 3 weeks of the 2011 season. They only needed 1 win to secure a playoff berth ...... not only did they lose all 3 games to finish the season at 8-8, but Tebow's offense put up a grand total of 3 points in the season finale against a below-average Kansas City Chiefs team. Fortunately for Tebow and the Broncos, they wound up backing into the playoffs anyway with an 8-8 record because their division was so mediocre.

2 years later in 2013, Tebow couldn't even cut it as Tom Brady's back-up for the Patriots, and they released him before the start of the season.

Will Richardson wind up having a disappointing career when all is said and done ??? That's possible, because it is still too early to tell how things will pan out for him in the long run ...... but comparing him to Tebow and acting as though he is as inept and talent-lacking as he was is rather absurd. This sportswriter sounds like an amateurish hack, at best.
