I'm happy with that. Our WRs and DBs still scare me though.

Isaiah Land NFL Draft Scouting Report

EDGE, Florida A&M Rattlers

Isaiah Land has been a three-year contributor to the Florida A&M defense and quickly developed into one of the most feared pass rushers in the country. He redshirted his freshman year and played sparingly the following season. His sophomore year was canceled due to COVID-19 but when he came back as a junior, he took college football by storm, leading the country in sacks. Land followed up his outstanding junior season with a strong senior campaign and now he looks to take the next step in the NFL.

Land is a long and lean pass-rush specialist who has excellent athleticism for the position. As a rusher, Land displays excellent first-step quickness off the snap and is able to win edges with ease. Once he wins the edge, Land shows an ability to quickly turn his hips and flatten at the top of the arc and find the quarterback utilizing his impressive length. Land predominately wins with speed off the edge, where his athleticism simply overmatches his weak competition. Additionally, he has an outstanding motor which allows him to rack up production late in the down as he has excellent foot speed to pursue the quarterback from the backside.

Land flashes very good body control and lateral agility that makes him a hard target to get hands on for opposing offensive linemen and also gives him the ability to make plays even when he is in a bad position with his body. In the run game, Land’s athleticism and effort are his two greatest strengths as well. He makes a ton of plays in pursuit and down the line of scrimmage. He is able to evade ensuing blockers and make plays in the backfield.

While there is a lot to like about Land, there are significant concerns when projecting him to the next level. At just 215 pounds, Land is significantly undersized for an NFL edge rusher. Due to this, he lacks the ability to set a firm edge in the run game and offers little to no power as a pass rusher. Furthermore, Land is underdeveloped in terms of having an array of rush moves and counters and relies on his speed and quickness far too often. Given his lack of size, a move to linebacker is likely in his future, but since he has such few reps in that role, he is a total projection at the next level.

Overall, Land has some redeeming qualities as a pass rusher but his lack of size and an incomplete skill set hurt his ability to be counted on early in his NFL career.

Top Reasons to Buy In:

Motor
Speed
Athleticism

Top Reasons For Concern:

Size
Lack of pass-rush moves/counters
Power

Size (NFL Combine):

Height: 6′ 3 1/2”

Weight: 236 lbs

Arm Length: 32 1/2”

Hand Size: 9 1/4”

Athletic Testing (NFL Combine):

40-yard Dash: 4.62s

Vertical Jump: 34.5”

Broad Jump: 10′ 6”

Short-Shuttle: 4.56s

Three-Cone: 7.20s

Bench Reps: 21 reps

Ideal Role: Developmental pass-rush specialist

Scheme Fit: 3-4 outside linebacker

Prospect Comparison: DeAngelo Malone

TDN Consensus Grade: 69.50/100 (Sixth-Round Value)

Land can rush the passer. He weighs 215 (according to some Dallas reports) pounds so using him in the correct circumstances will be crucial. Dallas faithful are bummed to lose him

Gransen is practically a WR. I suspect we will run a lot of two TE sets.

At this point I'm expecting a LOT of the offense to come from the TEs.
