We should've designed our D with the good players the Colts already had in hand instead of trying to reinvent everything.
Another reason to hate Pagano. Freeney looked pretty damn good in the Super Bowl.

I'd keep Arthur Jones if it could somehow help bring Chandler Jones over here.

With the Cardinals saying that Chandler Jones isn't going anywhere (and with Arians saying they'll just use the franchise tag if need be), that does it for any of Arthur Jones' potential usefulness for me.

As part of a pretty decent D-line around him.

He would look old and slow in the Colts 2016 defense. Still, I wanted to see him get another ring and ride off into the sunset. I say no to Freeney back on the Colts, as much I like him as a player and ex-Colt.

I'm talking about guys from the 2011 team that were on the chopping block for Grigson's great purge in his first couple of months. Brackett, Bullitt, Addai, Clark, Gonzalez, etc. There were A LOT of Polian guys that were on that team that either never played another down or had very limited chances elsewhere.
Are you saying that Polian left us with a shitty roster and Grigson had to fix it? Well, we all know Dam will argue against that one.

Yep, and failed epically to do so.

It's impossible to ascertain how much of the shitty roster being left for Grigson was Chris/Bill, but suffice to say, it was indeed "Polian". I would argue that Grigson was just about as bad as that, if not worse.

The only thing I am going to miss will be the way Bob Lamey pronounces his name Dick Well Jackson.

SO much work to be done here. Sherck was right a month or so ago
when he said that the Colts needed a football equivalent of the
Manhattan project regarding Linebackers.

Letting Bethea walk in favor of signing King Kong Landry was much worse of a decision.

No, that roster was very clearly aging and would've struggled to continue to stay competitive even with Peyton Manning at his best. The one thing Grigson did well was his rookie offseason. Maybe that went to his head or something, but after that, pretty much everything he did was awful.

I think we had to make most of the moves we made when the roster purge occurred, but letting Freeney walk because Pagano did not know ow to use him was dumb. The Bethea thing shocked me, as he seemed to have lost a step and a half his last year here.

Then we had early success and went all in, but it did not work. If we had been able to foresee the future and know the success was because of Luck's miracles and not due to a good roster, we may have seen more success in years 4 and 5, but less in years two and three. Now we have to rebuild five years down the road. I hope Ballard is up to the task, because if he slips much, many on here will crucify him.
