You can only dress 46 players. It gets to be a numbers game for players that are lower on the depth chart. Providing value on special teams is often the deciding factor.

I'm not saying it's the decision I would make, but it's not a slam dunk.

Fair enough, and I get it, but considering they play far more snaps on defense than special teams the math makes little sense to me. Especially when The season is over and the time to evaluate talent is coming to a merciful end.

I'm with you. It's the decision I would have been making as soon as Wilson was healthy enough to play (provided there aren't maturity issues they're trying to fix).
