I'm not thrilled with the pick for the same reason as Polian, who clearly preferred Smith at #6. I personally would never use a #6 overall on any offensive linemen except a really gifted left tackle, and I'm not convinced Nelson at guard will have as much of a transformative effect on the Colts' entire offensive line as some expect, at least not immediately. We'll see.

But picking Nelson at #6 makes me wonder if Ballard doesn't have something else up his sleeve, possibly moving back up into the 1st round to grab someone like Evans, Landry or Davenport. Which could explain why he went with Nelson over Smith at #6.

In my opinion, there were only 3 players who I didn't have any reservations about. Chubb, Barkley and Nelson. And having the 6th pick in the draft, you can't fuck it up. Watch some videos on Nelson and you will see how fucking good he really is. He will open up running lanes and protect Luck, what more could you ask for? He is one of the most bad ass guards I have seen in a long time. He is a bad motherfucker. I truly believe he hates people.

If he really is a generational talent as many are saying, then you have to take him. Lot of people thought he was the best overall player in this draft.
