The boring, inevitable answer is the same one we've had: we don't have the QB figured out. Sorry, but it's not just another position on the team. You can't just handwave it like, "Sure, that's a factor, but moving on..."

It's like evaluating your drive train: You've got a solid chassis, you've got the driveshaft, wheels, suspension, fuel injectors, etc. But, one thing: the transmission seizes up every few miles. It's super smooth and real exciting when it's working, but it keeps seizing up. So now all components look bad.

Get a new transmission you say? Well, they only make like 2 good ones per year, if that. And it's kind of a lottery who gets to take them. We tried a few used models... One worked great, the other two seemed promising, but not so much.

5) sat on cap space instead of improving the roster to minimize the issues with a young inexperienced qb

6) lost the 1st game of the year again. swept by the texicans and lost to the fucking jags in jacksonville again

good parts

1) bortolini and goncalves seem like decent pieces and possibly future starters

2) downs continued his good play

3) jaylon Jones has played pretty well and cross seems to be a solid safety

overall a terrible season.
It’s hard to believe that we have Buckner and Stewart starting at defensive tackle and we’re still ranked 26th in the league in run defense. We need to completely remake the defense outside of those two.

Giving Franklin that contract was a mistake.

Goes without saying that Gus has to go.

This is pretty much all that matters to me. You can't win anything in the NFL without having the QB figured out. And even if you do, it's still not a guarantee...look at the Bengals.

I wish we had a way to get Burrow away from there. Or even Lawrence. Or that we had taken Mayfield when we had the chance. So it goes.

Franklin, speed and blackmon have been really bad this year. I thought those guys would be strengths.

backup dt depth is garbage as well. and they tried to fix that with davis

Blackmon has been next to invisible. Seems like he has given up, after not getting his big payday. He will be replaced.

Yep for real.
I like Buckner and Stewart, and I like the DEs. I like Moore (but he's getting old) and Jaylon Jones, and Cross sometimes.

But backup DTs, LBs and the rest of the secondary really need an overhaul (plus the coaching).
