(vs. LIONS, 11/24)

Richardson's numbers were bad (11-for-28), but he also avoided numerous sacks by either throwing the ball away or fighting off a tackle. There was also had a big drop at the goal-line by Ogletree, and some questionable calls by the referees.

As long as this team learns to rally around Anthony and he grows cerebrally, this season is a win.

(1 WEEK LATER) ) [vs. PATRIOTS, 12/01]

Once again, Richardson's 12-for-24 belie how good his overall play was ....... he had numerous drops by his receivers, and he also avoided being sacked for the 2nd consecutive game.

He did have 2 INT's, but I think that an apt description of his overall play would be nothing short of ultimate leadership with clutch plays at crucial times.

I agree one needs the support his teammates. They would not give it if they didn't have a solid reason. I have to trust the locker room at this point because I certainly don't trust the GM. The HC is on notice with me for sure.

Why is this article in the Anthony Richardson thread ??? Because if Anything Richardson gets a solid offensive line playing in front of him, look out. )

Bortolini has been good, and Pinter played well against the Cheats. Center is not the position of concern on the OL. Getting Braden back and having Glow going forward should solidify the OL.

As is the case in baseball where you can never have too much pitching, you can't presume that a position is necessarily fine if a substitute has a good game. I'm glad that Pinter played well against the Patriots, but I would much rather have (and take my chances) with a healthy, 4-time Pro Bowler like Ryan Kelly for the long haul.

Bortolini has been better than Kelly, though. He just had a concussion last week. If Kelly is healthy, I don't doubt they'll start him, but it seems like Bortolini is the better option going forward.

Maybe.

But I'd still rather have a solid, proven, All-Pro like Kelly healthy in a sport in which 2 players can get knocked out of a game in the span of 3 or 4 plays ...... if Bortolini is (at most) minimally better than Kelly, than having Kelly healthy and playing is better in the long run than having Bortolini playing and keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't get injured.
