Time of possession/plays from scrimmage ...... even great defenses will get tired as the game wears on when their offense isn't getting any first downs, and always punting the ball away. The defense will subsequently have little or no chance to rest in between series, because the offense is seeing to it that the defense is constantly on the field. o
