I assume you're talking about the Colts not the Panthers. If so and if true, great. I've been approaching this draft under the impression that QB was non-negotiable for Irsay.

Preference is always to take BPA or trade down, never reach. Oh, the meltdown by fans would be so entertaining.

Mac Jones has been under a senile Bill Belicheat who has apparently forgotten how to develop QBs (or maybe Mac just isn't willing to cheat) and a defensive coach as an offensive coordinator, it's no surprise his development has stalled given the conditions he's been working with.

Lawrence is a bust until he can make a full field read or an anticipation throw.

His pigeon toe affected his accuracy, and it is a mechanical flaw he still has that drastically affects his accuracy. If Levis "believes he is a finished product", that will make him Wentz 2.0. Same mechanical flaw, same attitude about it.

Of course they're going to say that after they lost the bidding war. What do you expect them to say? We're really concerned we lost out on a generational talent but we just didn't want to give up that much in a trade package?

They will lose their F'ing minds. It's not whether the QB will be good or not, it's draft a young QB or else.

Levis mechanical issues are not just limited to his pigeon toe footwork. He's also at times a heel clicker and JT O' Sullivan also pointed times where he would take a hop step before throwing a pass. Maybe just a poor QB coach, I don't know.

There is not a generational talent in this QB class, and even you know that.

In fairness at some point they have to swing, right? Every year it’s either they aren’t good enough or we can’t afford to get there. The excuses are in some cases actually valid, but constantly saying “maybe next year” is going to alienate the fan base. It already got Reich fired. Ballard doesn’t have much rope left. If he leaves this draft without a QB he will be gone. While you will give him forever as long as he drafts decent positional players, most of the fan base won’t.

That's undoubtedly true. But that goes to Chrome's point. The question then is do you want your GM making decisions based on the ignorant mob? We've seen enough other teams blow their loads on iffy guys.

Hopefully Irsay wouldn't fire Reich simply because the fanbase was clamoring. Hopefully he had football reasons. And hopefully the same would apply to Ballard.

I would not be surprised to see Levis gone by pick #4, the guy is going to be very good!

They have to start swinging. Quarterbacks are notoriously to scout. Hell, San Fran got their future starter with the last pick of the draft.

You never know for sure until you see them play but you have to take a shot.

I tend to agree with you on this. My question is if Will Anderson is there do you take him and hopefully get your pass rush or do you take a chance on a QB? You need both to have a realistic chance at a title.
