It all sounds good now. BUT, if he can play, how does the line look now? |

Depth on the OL is so important, as we have seen as Colts fans.

Is slauson better than a healthy mewhort? I don’t think that he is

Hopefully we have a coaching staff competent enough to oversee a legitimate training camp competition now.

I'd like to be positive and upbeat about this, but the circumstances strongly suggest to me that Mewhort won't be healthy or back anywhere close to his old form. Simply put, the Colts wouldn't have been able to sign him so cheaply ($1.2M, minimal guarantees), and Mewhort wouldn't have been so outspokenly thankful, if there was any great likelihood of this.

Have we seen a long enough stretch of a healthy Mewhort to know this?

Not in awhile. He was pretty healthy to start his career if I remember right. Just saying if all things are equal, I could see mewhort winning a job. That said I don’t think it will be an honest competition

But I don’t think we will see two rookie starting guards unless injuries factor in |
