Gallaudet University ...... Deaf Team in College Football Playoffs
o
In 1991, l Kenny Walker l became the second completely deaf person to play in the NFL when he suited up for the Denver Broncos. Walker played 2 full seasons for the Broncos before shifting up to the CFL in 1994. The first completely deaf player ever was l Bonnie Sloan, l who played 4 games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973. Larry Brown, l who was profoundly (but not completely) deaf, led the NFL in rushing in 1970, and was the MVP of the NFL in 1972 when he led his Washington Redskins to the Super Bowl against the Miami Dolphins. Now, in 2022, Gallaudet University has won their conference championship and will be entering the Division III college football playoffs for only the second time in their school's history.
