I realized that Richardson was young, inexperienced, immature, and had bad mechanics, but I'm still a fucking idiot.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colts_Catastrophe

I think that the ball barely crossed the plane of the goal-line before Taylor dropped it, but that isn't the point ...... players who have been eating, breathing, and sleeping football since they were in 5th grade are doing this shit at the highest level of the sport, and they deserve to ravaged about it for not learning from the more than one hundred times that it's happened since around the mid-1990's in both college and pro football. It probably happened a lot before then, but the refs didn't start calling it and reviewing it on a regular basis via a replay until about 25 or 30 years ago.

Even minus that play I’m not really a JT fan. I prefer complete RBs. My all time favorite player is Edge. JT to me is simply a luxury RB. He may maximize the holes the lines gives him but he doesn’t create yardage when none is there, he’s not a power runner at the LOS, he can’t block, and can’t catch. He’s one dimensional. Ap is calling out ARs lack of improvement from yr 1 to yr 2 (which is valid), but I’d love to hear where the apparently great JT has improved. He’s got major holes in his game and I’ve seen zero improvement.

Even with what you’re calling major holes he’s still a top 5 back in the league. He is what he is at this point, it’s like complaining about Derrick Henry not being a great receiver but he can get you 2 thousand yards and 20tds.

JT improved on his fumbling which is why he was even available to be drafted when we got him. I never expected him to turn into Marshall Faulk, but he has to be accounted for by every guy on the defense and he punishes defenders which should go hand in hand with this offense. Not a great receiver or pass blocker I’ll give you that. You go back and watch nearly every deep ball Richardson completed last year and it was off play action, same with Flacco.

Nobody is afraid of Richardson or Daniel Jones for that matter… like I said this team goes as JT goes he sets everything up

I mean you could be right. probably are right that he won't ever turn into a consistent good qb

but

he has played very little ball. I have a hard time being that definitive about a guy with such a great skill set.

That's where I'm at.

When I say that I'm "still in his corner", I'm not necessarily predicting that he will have a good career, but rather that he might ...... and a 22 year-old who has 15 games as a starting quarterback under his belt is still in the proverbial wildcard status, as far as I'm concerned.

I have no problem with bringing in Daniel Jones as competition for the starting job QB, either ...... Chuck Noll benched Terry Bradshaw for the first 6 games of the 1974 because Joe Gilliam was playing better than he was, and in 1974 Bradshaw was 26 years-old and in his 5th NFL season.

Let’s pickup the subject that you seem not interested in ...... Bert Jones and Terry Bradshaw.

As I stated earlier, both Jones and Bradshaw were awful in the first 2 years ...... in fact, Bradshaw was bad for FOUR years between 1970 and 1973. In fact, he was bad enough that Chuck Noll started Joe Gilliam in the first 6 games of the 1974 season after Gilliam played better than Bradshaw in the pre-season. Even though Gilliam didn't play that badly, Noll had an instinct that Bradshaw was his man for the long-term, so he reinstated him as the starting QB in the 7th game of the 14-game season. In the first Super Bowl that the Steelers won, Bradshaw was not a factor, as it was all Franco Harris and the Steelers' defense that carried the day to beat the Vikings. But in the next 3 Super Bowls (1975, 1978, and 1979) Bradshaw shined, especially in the final 2 Super Bowls in which he won back-to-back MVP's.

So ...... how many Steelers fans were screaming to "throw in the damned towel" in regard to getting rid of Terr Bradshaw in those first 5 seasons between 1970 and 1974 ??? A lot. In fact, most of them. The fans didn't get their way, Noll made what HE THOUGHT were the right moves, and the rest is history.

Bert Jones had a similar story to Bradshaw with a an awful start to his career, except that he only had 2 very bad season in 1973 and 1974 before he started to shine in 1975, and then won the MVP of the league in 1976.

Ted Marchibroda didn't throw the towel in on Bert Jones after 2 bad seasons. Colts fans are glad that he didn't.

Chuck Noll didn't throw the towel in on Terry Bradshaw after 4 and-a-half bad seasons. All of the Steelers fans that were screaming for Bradshaw's head were glad that he didn't.

You want to throw the towel in on Anthony Richardson after his first full season in the NFL ...... I'm glad that you aren't making that decision.

o
Ready to throw in that towel yet Rocky?

No, I'm not ready to throw the towel in on a 22 year-old QB who just sustained another injury to his throwing arm.

Are you having fun gleefully celebrating the misfortune of a Colts player to show how prudent you are ???

It really is annoying when fans are gleeful about failures on the part of anything related to the team.

I’m not celebrating, I merely asked a question in response to your glowing remarks that you were glad I wasn’t running the team. Running a team means being able to make tough decisions no matter how much you make like a guy personally.

You’re like the rest of us, you fell in love with the story and not the player and you’re clinging to hope.

Him missing any time right now is not gonna win the starting job I’ll tell you that

I call it like I see it regardless, I wanna win as much as anyone on here.

Again there’s nothing gleeful about my post, but I did say Jones would be the starter and I’d be surprised if Richardson made it through preseason.

He doesn’t want the job let’s be real here
