Eberflus video, basic defensive breakdown
https://www.colts.com/video/football...-matt-eberflus
Nothing we don't already know really. Though I guess we now have confirmation that we will utilize a NT. Woods and Stewart still being on the roster was a pretty good indication of that though. And if there was a question about the safeties playing Cover 3 at times, there isn't now. I wish he would've talked about coverage by the CBs. The diagram shows them playing up close to the line, and he mentioned wanting them to challenge their man. But that doesn't necessarily mean they won't go back to the 15 yard cushions. Seems like this team is never immune to that. I'm hoping if Darius Leonard proves athletic enough and capable enough that we won't have to play too much dime. He could be a playmaker at WLB. |

Eh well that was like football 101. We still need the DT next to the NT. Don’t see a dominant player on the team at that position and without it I don’t see this defense getting to the next level. We never had that the last go around till we got Booger.
We will have to see how the roster shakes out. But I still think the middle of our d is the weakest right now. And if you look at those old Tampa teams or even the newer Seahawks teams they were strong in the middle at every level. |
