As much as I am rooting against the Patriots, the Eagles deserved that.

It's way too early to be chasing down points this early.

In the 2003 season Super Bowl, the Panthers cost themselves the game by doing that. Instead of the game-winning field goal by Vinatieri, it would have only been the game-tying field goal which would have sent that game into overtime. The Panthers missed two 2-point conversion attempts, and the Patriots made a two-point conversion attempt that they would not have gone for if the Panthers had simply kicked their extra points in the first place.

If the Eagles can get a 1st down WITHOUT scoring right here, they can run the clock almost all the way down.

The only reason why they were going for 2 right there is because they eschewed the extra point kick earlier.


Instead of a 7-point lead, it's only 5.
