Especially since, as it turns out, Stroud isn’t really a franchise quarterback. He’ll, they played just as well with Davis Mills.

I’ve seen this argument before, that Ballard should have given whatever it took to get Stroud. But this isn’t Madden. Houston was never going to trade that pick. And neither was Carolina going to trade the first pick, considering the fact that they traded into that spot.

Correct ...... for those who think that the Colts paid a high price in terms of mortgaging their future in the trade for Sauce Gardner, then in order to have acquired the rights to CJ Stroud from a division rival, the Colts may have had to put up a sign in front of Lucas Oil Stadium reading "We may not be open for business between about 2028 and 2033 if CJ Stroud isn't the next Dan Marino or John Elway."

I think it was Dammy who says the trade could have happened if the Colts offered enough. Well sure, but what exactly would that offer have been. It would have had to have been the Herschel Walker and Ricky Williams trade combined. Something insane like every pick in the next two drafts plus players.

It wouldn’t have been worth it.

I don't want to argue, but we could have made the Bears a better offer and we would have if Ballard would have accessed Stroud as better than AR, also there is a very good chance that if Houston would have feared we were trying to trade up for #1 they would have traded up and gave up the #3. As I said in the beginning hindsight is 20/20 but if you make $millions and manage a billion dollar franchise you need to make better choices and not get out maneuvered time after time by your main competitor. Teflon Chris has fucked up this franchise, granted he had a lot of help doing it!

By the way it cost Carolina 2 first 2 second and a receiver.....we just gave up 2 first and a receiver for a corner back that has looked injured from the first game!
