He is counting on you to be straight and either say yes and go full tilt or explain you can't. But for it to go the way it did, I could see Steichen just saying fuck it, done dealing with you right now, we're going to go with Joe for the rest of it and in turn sending AR a message about how quickly the NFL can show you that Not For Long is applicable to absolutely everyone in the league.

Bingo...that is what I am thinking as well. When ask about AR's return Steichen comment to the field reporter was, he got hit so he's out! He may even be feeling like AR needs to man up a little, sometimes you have to play through some pain, the great ones did/do it all the time! I remember Peyton nearly getting his head torn off by the Redskins, and came back in after one play!
